Figures for RMP ArticlesStyle for Electronic FiguresRMP can accept PostScript (PS) or Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) files. We suggest the use of either Times Roman or Arial font for the lettering in your figure. Some other fonts that are available in graphics applications packages are not handled well by our production system or by major web browsers that will be used to access your article online (i.e., Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, etc.). Label the parts of multipart figures (a), (b), (c), ... using pairs of parentheses rather than a), b), c). If numbers of five or more digits appear in the figure, insert a thin space (rather than a comma) every three digits, e.g., 60 000 or 1 500 000. Close up four-digit numbers: 5000. Quantities less than 1 should have a zero to the left of the decimal point: 0.01 rather than .01. Naming Figure FilesPlease name your electronic figure files following this model: authorname_fig01.eps Sending Figure FilesFor initial submission, a pdf file with figures embedded in the text is preferred. This is used for refereeing. However, when sending the Latex source file and figure files for production, please do not combine text and graphics, as these are handled separately in production. A double-spaced list of figure captions should be provided at the end of your article. Figure files, named according to the model above, may be sent individually or compressed and sent as a batch. Use one of the following modes of submission:
Color FiguresWhen color figures are provided as usable electronic files, they will appear in the online edition in color, at no cost to authors. The same figures will appear in black and white in the print edition unless other arrangements are made. Captions for such figures should be worded so as to be usable for both versions and should begin with the words (Color online) after the figure number, e.g., Fig. 1. (Color online) Diagram of ...
